← Back🧬 Measles Estimate Just Updated — Even When CDC Skips a Week
New
We’ve updated our active measles case estimate using the latest data from the CDC — including a correction for last week’s skipped update. VaxCalc now adjusts automatically when federal data comes in late, giving you a smoother, more realistic view of what’s happening now.
🔹 Estimated active cases (as of July 9): 92–108
🔹 New CDC-reported cases added: 61
🔹 Latest confirmed week (June 29–July 5): 9 cases
🔹 Special trend note: While cases rose in late June, early July numbers suggest the outbreak may be stabilizing.

📚 Bonus: We’ve also added historical context from USA Today’s 1985 measles report — showing that while this year’s outbreak is high for recent decades, it’s still low compared to past eras when 3,000+ annual cases were common.
